Hoo’s Woods Raptor Center located near Whitewater is offering a unique opportunity for you to photograph some of our Arctic and other majestic birds of prey. You will receive privileged access to help you get photographs not otherwise available to the average visitor. Tips and minimal assistance will be given throughout the activity by professional photographer Scott Weberpal and Margie Duerr.
The day will start with a brief introduction to learn about our work in rehabilitation and education. We will remain as a group mainly outdoors where participants will be able to photograph some of our raptors stationary in natural settings that include a Snowy Owl, Golden Eagle, Rough Legged Hawk, and Barn Owl. Weather permitting, we will offer a flight demonstration with our red tailed hawk and barn owl. All birds will be wearing anklets, jesses and telemetry which is required. This event is dependent on suitable weather conditions for the birds and for us (no extreme cold or high winds).
Workshop size is limited to 20 participants and are required to have a digital camera. Bring other photography gear such as telephoto lenses, flashes, and large memory card with plenty of room to store your photographs. Also extra batteries as they drain quickly in cold weather. Payment and registration must be made by Feb 20th and can be made via Paypal found on our homepage or check payable to Hoo's Woods PO Box 21 Milton WI 53563.
